【摘要】:Thistestmethodmaybeusedformaterialdevelopment,materialcomparison,qualityassurance,characterization,reliabilityassessment,anddesigndatageneration.Highstrength,monolithicadvancedceramicmaterialsaregenerallycharacterizedbysmallgrainsizes(x003C;50x03BC;m)andbulkdensitiesnearthetheoreticaldensity.Thesematerialsarecandidatesforload-bearingstructuralapplicationsrequiringhighdegreesofwearandcorrosionresistanceandelevated-temperaturestrength.Althoughflexuraltestmethodsarecommonlyusedtoevaluatestrengthofadvancedceramics,thenonuniformstressdistributionoftheflexurespecimenlimitsthevolumeofmaterialsubjectedtothemaximumappliedstressatfracture.Uniaxially-loadedtensilestrengthtestsprovideinformationonstrength-limitingflawsfromagreatervolumeofuniformlystressedmaterial.Becauseoftheprobabilisticstrengthdistributionsofbrittlematerialssuchasadvancedceramics,asufficientnumberoftestspecimensateachtestingconditionisrequiredforstatisticalanalysisandeventualdesignwithguidelinesforsufficientnumbersprovidedinthistestmethod.Size-scalingeffectsasdiscussedinpracticeC1239willaffectthestrengthvalues.Therefore,strengthsobtainedusingdifferentrecommendedtensiletestspecimengeometrieswithdifferentvolumesorsurfaceareasofmaterialinthegagesectionswillbedifferentduetothesesizedifferences.Resultingstrengthvaluescan,inprinciple,bescaledtoaneffectivevolumeoreffectivesurfaceareaofunityasdiscussedinPracticeC1239.Tensiletestsprovideinformationonthestrengthanddeformationofmaterialsunderuniaxialstresses.Uniformstressstatesarerequiredtoeffectivelyevaluateanynon-linearstress-strainbehaviorwhichmaydevelopastheresultoftestingmode,testingrate,processingoralloyingeffects,environmentalinfluences,orelevatedtemperatures.Theseeffectsmaybeconsequencesofstresscorrosionorsubcritical(slow)crackgrowthwhichcanbeminimizedbytestingatappropriatelyrapidratesasoutlinedinthistestmethod.Theresultsoftensiletestsofspecimensfabricatedtostandardizeddimensionsfromaparticularmaterialorselectedportionsofapart,orboth,maynottotallyrepresentthestrengthanddeformationpropertiesoftheentire,full-sizeendproductoritsin-servicebehaviorindifferentenvironments.Forqualitycontrolpurposes,resultsderivedfromstandardizedtensiletestspecimenscanbeconsideredtobeindicativeoftheresponseofthematerialfromwhichtheyweretakenforparticularprimaryprocessingconditionsandpost-processingheattreatments.Thetensilestrengthofaceramicmaterialisdependentonbothitsinherentresistancetofractureandthepresenceofflaws.AnalysisoffracturesurfacesandfractographyasdescribedinPracticeC1322andMIL-HDBK-790,thoughbeyondthescopeofthistestmethod,arerecommendedforallpurposes,especiallyfordesigndata.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftensilestrengthunderuniaxialloadingofmonolithicadvancedceramicsatelevatedtemperatures.Thistestmethodaddresses,butisnotrestrictedto,varioussuggestedtestspecimengeometriesaslistedintheappendix.Inaddition,testspecimenfabricationmethods,testingmodes(force,displacement,orstraincontrol),testingrates(forcerate,stressrate,displacementrate,orstrainrate),allowablebending,anddatacollectionandreportingproceduresareaddressed.Tensilestrengthasusedinthistestmethodreferstothetensilestrengthobtainedunderuniaxialloading.1.2Thistestmethodappliesprimarilytoadvancedceramicswhichmacroscopicallyexhibiti......
