【摘要】:Factorsgoverningselectionofamethodforthedeterminationofuraniumincludeavailablequantityofsample,homogeneityofmaterialsampled,samplepurity,desiredlevelofreliability,andfacilityavailableequipment.ThisuraniumassaymethodisreferencedintheTestMethodsforChemical,MassSpectrometric,andSpectrochemicalAnalysisofNuclear-GradeUraniumDioxidePowdersandPellets(TestMethodsC696)andintheTestMethodsforChemical,MassSpectrometric,andSpectrochemical,Nuclear,andRadiochemicalAnalysisofNuclear-GradeUranylNitrateSolutions(TestMethodsC799).Thisuraniumassaymethodmayalsobeusedforuraniumhexafluorideanduraniumoreconcentrate.Thistestmethoddetermines20to200mgofuranium;isapplicabletoproduct,fuel,andscrapmaterialafterthematerialisdissolved;istoleranttowardsmostmetallicimpurityelementsusuallyspecifiedinproductandfuel;andusesnospecialequipment.Theruggednessofthetitrationmethodhasbeenstudiedforboththevolumetric(6)andtheweight(7)titrationofuraniumwithdichromate.CommitteeC26SafeguardsStatement:4.4.1Thematerials(nucleargradeuraniuminproduct,fuel,andscrap)towhichthistestmethodappliesaresubjecttonuclearsafeguardregulationsgoverningtheirpossessionanduse.TheanalyticalmethodinthisstandardmeetsU.S.DepartmentofEnergyguidelinesforacceptabilityofameasurementmethodforgenerationofsafeguardsaccountabilitymeasurementdata.4.4.2Whenusedinconjunctionwiththeappropriatecertifiedreferencematerials(SRM6orCRM),thisprocedurecandemonstratetraceabilitytothenationalmeasurementbase.However,useofthetestmethoddoesnotautomaticallyguaranteeregulatoryacceptanceoftheresultingsafeguardsmeasurements.Itremainsthesoleresponsibilityoftheuserofthistestmethodtoassurethatitsapplicationtosafeguardshastheapprovaloftheproperregulatoryauthorities.1.1Thistestmethod,commonlyreferredtoastheModifiedDaviesandGraytechnique,coversthetitrationofuraniuminproduct,fuel,andscrapmaterialsafterthematerialisdissolved.Thetestmethodisversatileandhasbeenruggednesstested.Withappropriatesamplepreparation,thistestmethodcangivepreciseandunbiaseduraniumassaysoverawidevarietyofmaterialtypes(1,2).DetailsofthetitrationprocedureinthepresenceofplutoniumwithappropriatemodificationsaregiveninTestMethodC1204.1.2Uraniumlevelstitratedareusually20to50mg,butupto200mguraniumcanbetitratedusingthereagentvolumesstatedinthistestmethod.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafeguardandsafetyprecautionstatements,seeSection.

【摘要】:1.1Thiskinetictestmethodcoversalaboratoryweatheringprocedurethat(1)enhancesreaction-producttransportintheaqueousleachofasolidmaterialsampleofspecifiedmass,and(2)measuresratesofweathering-productmassrelease.Solubleweatheringproductsaremobilizedbyafixed-volumeaqueousleachthatisperformedandcollectedweekly.LeachatesamplesareanalyzedforpH,alkalinity/acidity,specificconductance,sulfate,andotherselectedanalytes.1.1.1Thistestmethodisintendedforusetomeetkinetictestingregulatoryrequirementsforminingwasterockandoressizedtopassa6.3-mm(0.25-in.)Tylerscreen.1.1.2Interlaboratorytestingofthismethodhasbeenconfinedtominewasterock.Applicationofthistestmethodtometallurgical-processingwaste(forexample,milltailings)isoutsidethescopeofthetestmethod.1.2Thistestmethodisamodificationofalaboratoryweatheringproceduredevelopedoriginallyforminingwastes(1-3).However,itmayhaveusefulapplicationwherevergaseousoxidationcoupledwithaqueousleachingareimportantmechanismsforcontaminantmobility.1.3Thistestmethodcallsfortheweeklyleachingofawell-characterizedsolidmaterialsample(weighingatleast1000-g),withwaterofspecifiedpurity,andthecollectionandchemicalcharacterizationoftheresultingleachate.Testdurationisdeterminedbytheusersobjectivesofthetest.1.4Asdescribed,thistestmethodmaynotbesuitableforsomematerialscontainingplastics,polymers,orrefinedmetals.Thesematerialsmayberesistanttotraditionalparticlesizereductionmethods.1.5Additionally,thistestmethodhasnotbeentestedforapplicabilitytoorganicsubstancesandvolatilematter.1.6Thistestmethodisnotintendedtoprovideleachatesthatareidenticaltotheactualleachateproducedfromasolidmaterialinthefieldortoproduceleachatestobeusedasthesolebasisofengineeringdesign.1.7Thistestmethodisnotintendedtosimulatesite-specificleachingconditions.Ithasnotbeendemonstratedtosimulateactualdisposalsiteleachingconditions.Furthermore,thetestisnotdesignedtoproduceeffluentsthatareinchemicalequilibriumwiththesolidphasesample.1.8Thistestmethodisintendedtodescribetheprocedureforperformingthelaboratoryweatheringofsolidmaterialstogenerateleachates.Itdoesnotdescribealltypesofsamplingandanalyticalrequirementsthatmaybeassociatedwithitsapplication.1.9ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
